Privacy Policy

1. Do not enter patient identifiers

RDCalc does not require patient identifiers for calculator use. Do not enter patient names, MRNs, full dates of birth, room numbers, screenshots containing patient information, or other PHI. RDCalc is not offered as a system for processing protected health information.

2. Limited information for app operations

RDCalc may receive information needed to operate the app, support accounts and billing workflows, review submitted feedback, and troubleshoot issues.

• Product-label presets you explicitly save in My Formulas: product name, manufacturer, label values, source, verification date, and favorite status, linked to your account. These are not patient cases.
• Account information if signing in, such as name or email depending on the authentication provider.
• Subscription status and billing metadata if billing features are used.
• Feedback form content and optional follow-up email, plus support emails and the sender’s email address.
• Technical and log information typical of hosted web apps, such as browser/device details, request logs, hosting logs, and error information.
• Optional Google Analytics measurements, only if you allow analytics in this browser: visits to selected public pages, broad traffic sources, tool interactions, note-copy and print requests, and trial or checkout button actions. Calculator values, results, note text, saved labels, and account identifiers are not included.

3. Optional analytics and your choices

Google Analytics helps us understand which tools are useful and where visitors find RDCalc. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services and describes its processing in its Privacy Policy. You can use RDCalc without allowing analytics.

• Analytics stays off until you select Allow analytics. Declining does not affect calculators, accounts, trials, or billing. Change your choice at any time using Analytics preferences in the footer. We also keep analytics off when the browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
• When allowed, Google receives a cookie-based browser identifier and ordinary browser, device, and network information along with the limited events described above. This is not anonymous data. We do not send your name, email, Clerk or Stripe identifiers, clinical inputs, results, or chart-note contents to Google Analytics.
• Page measurements use a fixed list of public routes and titles. Query strings, URL fragments, arbitrary referrer addresses, and free-text campaign values are not forwarded. Account, authentication, billing-return, feedback, and My Formulas pages are excluded from our analytics events.
• We use analytics to understand acquisition and usability. Advertising features, Google signals, automatic form tracking, and session recording are not enabled. We do not join analytics browser identifiers to account or billing records.
• Your analytics choice is stored locally for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 60 days without extending their expiry on each visit. Turning analytics off stops collection and removes RDCalc’s analytics cookies from this browser. Previously received data is not automatically deleted by changing this choice.
• Google Analytics user and event data retention is set to two months, without resetting the retention period on new activity. Aggregated standard reports may be retained longer by Google.

4. Use is tied to review and app operations

RDCalc may use information to operate and secure the app, manage access and billing, respond to feedback, and improve workflows.

• Operate RDCalc and maintain app reliability.
• Provide account access and subscription-status features when used.
• Receive, review, and respond to submitted feedback.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve calculator workflows, wording, reliability, and usability.

5. Feedback helps improve RDCalc

Feedback is sent privately to the RDCalc team for review and should use fake or de-identified examples only.

• Feedback may be reviewed by the RDCalc team for product review and quality improvement.
• Feedback may be retained to track issues, wording suggestions, and usability notes.
• If an email is provided, RDCalc may follow up for clarification.
• Feedback should not include PHI or patient-specific details.

6. Services used to operate RDCalc

RDCalc may use third-party services for hosting, authentication, payment processing, database or subscription management, email delivery, and optional analytics. Payment details are handled by the payment provider rather than entered directly into RDCalc.

• Netlify for hosting and deployment.
• Clerk for authentication.
• Stripe for payment processing.
• Supabase for account-access, subscription records, and saved product presets.
• Resend for feedback email delivery.
• Namecheap Private Email for receiving, storing, and replying to support emails.
• Google Analytics for optional website and product-usage measurements when you allow analytics.

7. No patient records are intended

RDCalc is not intended to create patient records, collect PHI, or store patient cases. Users should avoid submitting identifying patient details anywhere in the app, including feedback and exported notes.

8. Data is limited to operating the service

RDCalc limits its own data model to account, access, billing, feedback, and explicitly saved product labels. It does not save patient cases or calculation history.

• Saved products can be edited or deleted in My Formulas. Deleting a preset does not change a calculation already open in your browser.
• Unit choices may be remembered in this browser. Only units are stored for this preference, not calculation values or notes.
• Calculator inputs and generated notes are processed in the browser and are not intentionally saved as calculation history by RDCalc.
• Account, billing, feedback, and technical records may be retained for as long as needed to operate, secure, support, and meet legal obligations for the service.
• Authentication, payment, hosting, database, email, and analytics providers may retain data under their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Account and privacy choices

Free tools can be used without an account, and privacy questions can be sent through the Feedback page.

• Use free calculators without creating an RDCalc account.
• Manage subscription billing through Stripe Customer Portal when available.
• Request an account or privacy review through Feedback without including PHI.
• RDCalc does not sell personal information or use calculator inputs for targeted advertising.

10. This page may be updated

RDCalc may update this policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
